Phthalonitrile, molecular weight: 128.13, white needle crystal. Soluble in ethanol, ether, chloroform and benzene, insoluble in water and petroleum, and can volatilize with water vapor. It is mainly used as intermediates of pigments and other fine chemicals, and can be widely used in the synthesis of phthalosulfonamide drugs, phthalocyanine pigments and dyes, polyamide fibers with high thermal resistance, xylyl, diisocyanate plastics and desulfurization catalysts.
